In the Royal Arch (RA), why is it called Royal? Likewise the ‘Royal’ in Royal Ark Mariner.?

The relationship between the Mark degree and the RAM is similar (but different) to the relationship between the Craft and the Royal Arch. In the case of the RAM the 'Royal' is added to give it credibility as well as to distinguish it from the Mark degree. The Royal Arch however, though equally creating a distinction from the Craft, was so named very early on due to its clear association not only with King Solomon but also with the Supreme Being, biblically alluded to as 'King', and other such Royal attributions.
